A smile

When smokes clear
And the embers die
The sum and total of a man’s life sadly found
In a will unfinished
An ambition heard, wished but not found

He lived living on the temporary
The enriched details of life undermined
And yet
And yet
He farewells with smile on face

He trusted rare a soul
He risked little
And gained no reward

But as he walked in vain
Hands searching in pockets empty
Underneath the Sun’s rays
He wished for rain
Stretched his hands became
As did his lips
To the skys his stare lingered
As droplet upon droplet fell

Goodbye goodbye
His lasts words heard only by him
As he smiles
